New York’s Village Parade is the largest public Halloween event in the U.S. Anyone in a costume who wishes to march can participate. Anything from zombies, aliens, animals, witches, storybook characters, cartoons, celebrities, and monsters goes. In 2013, the day of the dead costume was one of the most popular. The strength in numbers, so couples and friends often choose same themes. Most of the audience are wearing costumes too, so the Parade has a feel of a festival, also called “New York’s Carnival.”
